About Cornerstone

The Cornerstone

"...You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For in Scripture it says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame." - 1Peter 2:5-6

In ancient times, the cornerstone was the most essential element in the successful construction of a lasting building. The cornerstone was carefully chosen of its physical strength and the truth of its corners. It was then laid at the corner of the foundation as the key reference point for all the construction. As the Bible uses this symbol, its alluding to Jesus Christ, the chief cornerstone of God's household--the church. We at Cornerstone Church acknowledge Jesus Christ as the chief cornerstone to guide and direct in every aspect of our church's life and development, and we've chosen it to be our name as a constant reminder of that promise.
